“Watership Down” Moonlit River Production Cel and Background (1978) - ID: jun26066

A production cel and background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Kehaar, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. The image appears around 1:15:30 with a vertical pan movement as Hazel and Fiver sit on the boat with Kehaar flying overhead. The cel of the boat with Fiver and Hazel is missing. Measuring 23”x12.5” overall, with the character image measuring 1.5”x1.5”, the setup is in very good condition with minor edge and corner wear, minor cel curling, and heavy tape and adhesive residue along the left edge.
